Hello and Welcome!
Some people say they have cancer. Cancer has been inflicted with Jimmy.
Some people say they have cancer. Cancer has been inflicted with Jimmy.
The words "terminal cancer" cut deep and insert fear in us all. This caused a problem for me, because my whole life has been lived facing fears head-on so that I can be the best person I can be. I will not pretend I have it all figured out and being diagnosed with the most aggressive brain cancer known to man isn't scary. However, I refuse to live my life differently than before - like I have cancer. No, cancer has ME, and I am one heck of a fighter! I choose to keep that mindset for myself, my family, friends, and in hopes to inspire others that cancer has too. Cancer is afraid, cancer has Jimmy...not the other way around.
- Jimmy Henley Jr
Jimmy Henley Jr. is a Fayetteville, North Carolina native who is most known for his exciting and well decorated career in law enforcement leading to private investigations.
His story begins when a young military couple, Jim and Linda Henley, had their first child in 1968 where they were stationed in Germany. They then returned to the Fort Bragg where Jimmy and his sister Teresa grew up, who continue to keep him on his toes as any little sister would.
Jimmy met his beautiful wife in 1988 and have been together for almost 35 years. Sharon has always been a steady force behind the scenes (sometimes in front) even though Jimmy might not admit it. In 1996, Jimmy and Sharon introduced their one and only child. Their world has since revolved around Kaitlyn and definitely paid off with having a daughter they couldn’t be prouder of! It would be a disservice if their bestest boy Big Ben the miniature dachshund was not mentioned as he is a “big” part of their family!
Those who know Jimmy know he has had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. Some to name are racing cars, riding Harleys, and driving boats. His biggest passion is being a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan with rumors from UNC Hospital saying he bled black and yellow during surgeries…
For the first time ever, Jimmy, his wife, their daughter, and fur baby are stepping into the public eye so that their story will inspire, provide peace, give hope, and help them continue to thrive.
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a highly aggressive and malignant brain tumor that originates in the glial cells of the brain. This type of cancer is the most common and deadly form of primary brain tumors, and it tends to grow and spread quickly. GBM is classified into four stages based on the size and spread of the tumor, with stage 1 being the earliest and stage 4 being the most advanced. GBM can cause a range of symptoms, depending on its location in the brain, and it is challenging to treat due to its aggressive nature and tendency to invade nearby brain tissue.
Current treatment options include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy, but the prognosis for GBM patients remains poor, with a median survival of 12-15 months even with aggressive treatment. Ongoing research efforts aim to develop more effective treatments for this devastating disease.
The cost of treating glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) varies depending on the stage of the cancer and the treatment required. Jimmy is in the 4th advanced-stage and treatment typically involves a combination of surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. In addition to direct medical costs, there may also be indirect costs associated with GBM treatment, such as lost income due to time off work, transportation and lodging expenses, and the cost of home health care or other support services.
Overall, the cost of treating GBM can be significant regardless of the stage of the cancer, and it may pose a financial burden for patients and their families.
